With a PhD in Neurosciences, she translates the most recent findings from neuroscience to leadership development trainings, impulse speeches and retreats. Karolien uses her expertise in the domain of applied neurosciences to give powerful and inspiring insights into daily behavior and decision making, with the aim to maximize the true potential of the participants and increase their agility in a world where change is the only constant.
She obtained a PhD in Neuroscience and the University of Leuven, Belgium and a Master in both Behavioural Neurosciences and Economics, obtained at the University of Leuven, Belgium. She was granted with a prestigious Postdoctoral grant, which she used to conduct research at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. Her work within behavioural neuroscience has been published in high impact A-journals, such as Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, Behavioral and Brain Sciences, NeuroImage and Human Brain Mapping. She is senior Faculty at the Goethe Business School in Frankfurt.
At the Summer University 2013 of the International Coach Federation, her workshop was awarded as the best workshop in the domain of ‘NeuroLeadership’. She is author of the Bestseller ‘Wie das Gehirn Spitzenleistung bringt’, published by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
She lives with her family in Frankfurt am Main and is a devoted runner and climber in her free time.
Sibylle Gerbers has a background in banking, building on years of experience in national and international finance with responsibilities for both companies and financial institutions. Looking for a new challenge she started the study of Psychology at Goethe University in 2012, which she successfully completed with a thesis on the regulatory focus on Greek employees in the financial crisis and their contribution to burnout.
Sibylle Gerbers joined the team of Notebaert Consulting in April 2016 focussing on work- and organizational psychology (and the impact of mindfulness on the working individual). Following intense assessments of the concept of healthy peak performance as investigated by Karolien Notebaert she holds workshops and gives speeches, amongst others at the 1. Neurofinance Conference in Frankfurt on the neuropsychology of financial decisions. In the meantime she is busy completing her master’s degree in psychology at Goethe University.
Dr. Tim Hahn
Tim Hahn is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Cognitive Psychology II of the Goethe University. Tim is an expert in the field of cognitive neuroscience with a never-ending enthusiasm and drive to understand the complexity of the brain. His major areas of interests are the neural correlates of personality, the neuroscience of building trust and cooperation, machine learning and the science of moral decision making. Tim has more than 10+ highly ranked scientific publications in these areas.
During his Ph.D., he was a guest research fellow at Centre for Neuroimaging Sciences (King’s College London) in cooperation with the Intelligent Systems Group (Centre for Computational Statistics and Machine Learning, University College London).
Sascha Schwarz is Associate Partner and Head of the Organizational Transformation practice in Infosys Lodestone Management Consulting in Germany. He has a strong professional background in finance and customer management and gathered extensive experience by leading transformational programs at Multinational Corporates in Germany, Europe and in the USA.
As an executive advisor, he supports his clients in formulating and executing strategies and transformational tactics that enables business agility for building tomorrow’s enterprise.
A major focus of his work is to support executives and leadership in their decision making process and collaboration, and to engage multiple stakeholders – executives, senior leaders, business units and employee groups to execute the strategic plan. He conducts trainings and workshops with the focus on the dynamics of transformational programs in the context of human behaviour, decision making processes and self-control of the involved actors.
At his previous employers Infosys Limited, Ernst & Young, Arthur Andersen and Siemens Nixdorf, he was taking leadership and advisory roles for many international clients. Sascha graduated from University of Applied Sciences in Berlin (Germany) and holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science in Economics. He has recently completed his Executive MBA at the Durham University Business School (UK) and EBS Business School (Germany) with honors. His thesis focuses on the decision making process of top leadership and how they use dynamic capabilities to increase firm performance during the internationalization of enterprises in a high competitive market.
Dr. Fabian Urban
Fabian Urban is the Director of the Executive Education of the Goethe Business School. Fabian is an expert in the development of potential and unused resources, more specifically how unused resources can be accessed und used optimally. He graduated in Economics at the Universities of Freibug and Hamburg. Fabian completed his Ph.D. on ‘Emotions and Leadership’ in the area of Personnel and Organizational Management at the University of Freiburg. He is a trained systemic counselor and coach (Milton Erickson Institute Heidelberg) and a lecturer at the University of Freiburg. Fabian is an iron man athlete who knows how to meaningfully deal with aims in life, with the underestimated power of mental resources and with failures.
